Murals by Slang

Hustle. Create. Execute. Repeat.
The foundation of my art will always lie in my roots in Graffiti culture. Cutting my teeth with the extreme conditions of vandalism prepared me for painting murals in ways that any formal education could not.

An ode to Standing Rock painted in Portland OR 2017
My favorite aspect of painting public spaces is engaging directly with the community that lives with the art. I use the subject matter of animals as metaphor for the deeper meaning, to bring people together in conversation through common experience first, and then to build a bridge for discourse of the underlying deeper concept that might have been divisive on it's own. I strongly believe that no one will listen if you're shouting at them, so it's important to me to try and include everyone in the conversation, not just those who agree with me in the first place.
